Why We Exist
We created Matter because we saw a different way to work: one that gives equal importance to people, the environment, and quality — not just budget or speed. As a structural engineer and female founder, Christina felt it was time to build differently.
We don’t just accept the way things have been done. We ask: How can this project add real value? Every time we answer that question, we are doing engineering that matters.

Our Story
“I grew up in Taiwan and loved painting and drawing as a child, the quiet observation, the detail, the flow. Then I moved to the UK to study engineering. I always carried both sides with me: the artist within, and the engineer. I worked at big consultancies in London and gathered strong experience. In 2017, I decided to start my own company, to take control and build meaningful work, even though I began with no clients. Read more about my journey and how Matter started. I faced many challenges, long hours, and a steep learning curve. But I believed in a vision: structural engineering that is open, collaborative, and socially responsible. Today, that vision is Matter.”
