Declan Collier

Bringing more than 35 years’ experience to Matter, Declan acts as our technical design reviewer, and historical and listed buildings advisor. His expertise lies in repurposing existing structures, with a focus on repairing, refurbishing and strengthening them.

Declan has applied his extensive knowledge and skills to a broad range of domestic and commercial design projects. He particularly enjoys investigating to get to the root of unusual structural damage identified in structural engineering surveys.

His career has developed with positions at renowned engineering firms such as Anthony Hunt Associates, Peter Brett Associates (now Stantec) and Adams Kara Taylor (now AKT II).

Declan is a member of the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE).
