Laura Hulme

Laura joined Matter from Arup where she was the leader of the Specialist Structures team, covering forensic engineering, dynamics, heritage buildings, advanced analysis and materials.

She brings advanced technical expertise to Matter with over 20 years experience in complex projects all over the world.

She loves using engineering principles to solve challenging problems from the very largest to the very smallest. Her work has included seismic analysis of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, managing the vibration sensitivity of brain surgery units, designing multistorey deep basements, protecting heritage buildings from tunnelling ground movements and developing seismic risk management programmes for the World Bank.

Closer to home she has broad experience in education, housing, retail and leisure projects across the UK, designing in concrete, steel, timber and masonry.
